The English Camino begins in the dock of Curuxeiras in Ferrol. After going across the district of Magdalena, we arrive at the Arsenal Militar and the district of Esteiro. We continue our journey to get to the industrial area of Narón and we will gradually arrive at the monastery of San Martino de Xubia. After going across the bridge over the Xubia river we will have got to Neda.
We leave Neda along the marshes of Belelle river, the church of Santa María, the Clock Tower and the Sancti Spiritus pilgrims hospital. We go on along the hillside of Marraxón up to Fene. We continue across the Romaiz viaduct and once in Poligono de Vilar do Colo we may take a break. Then, we go down along Camino Real up to Pena do Pico. We will enter Cabanas by the Magdalena beach and we finally go accros the bridge to arrive in Pontedeume, where we can still visit the remains of Señorío de los Andrade, feudal lords of this region. At the final part of this stage, before arriving in Miño, we will find some ups and downs but not too hard.
From Miño we will go across the Lambre River to go to the chuch of San Pantaleon das Viñas along some vineyards. We arrive in Betanzos by the church of Os Remedios and we will have in this town all the services we need. It´s important to bring out that Betanzos was one the seven capitals of the ancient Kingdom of Galicia
We start this day with a visit of the old part of this beautiful town of Betanzos. Then, we continue our walk among oak trees and eucalyptus in the area of Abegondo and Mesia. Since there are not very many services for pilgrims we suggest being well supplied. We begin the ascent to La Malata near the chapel of San Lazaro. This is the highest place of the English Camino with its 454 meters high. At the end of the stage, we will arrived at Hospital de Bruma, where there was an old hospital for pilgrims, founded in 1140, and from there we will be soon in Meson de Vento.
The English Camino runs through rural paths with small ups and downs from Meson do Vento to Santa Cruz de Montaos. The stage begins in Bruma and from there we set out towards Ordes. We will pass through O Seixo, Carreira, Mámoas, A Carballeira and A Rúa. We will leave behind the Mill of Trabe and the bridge of O Cubo in order to continue towards Outeiro de Abaixo and through a wooded path we will be soon in the church of San Xulián de Poulo in Outeiro de Arriba. After A Senra and A Rua, the way leads us to Carballo. Then, we have Casanova de Pereiro the bridge of Ponte Pereira and the end of the stage in Santa Cruz de Montaos.
We start our last stage towards Baxoia and Sigüeiro. In Sigüeiro we have to go through Calle Real up to Sionlla from where we will be able to see Compostela. We go across the Tambre River and all along the river to Barciela. Then, we leave behind the industrial area of Tambre and we get into the city through the district of Meixonfrío. From here, we will be walking by some of the most beautiful places of the Santiago like Santa Clara, San Roque, Algalia and Azabacheria. We will be soon in the magnificent Cathedral of Santiago.
